Judge Judith Elaine Coello told the prosecution to do its best to ensure the footage be made available.

‘Can you make a note of that and report it immediately, so that if there is a time limit, which I am aware there is very often, that that CCTV is reserved so the Crown can at least review it.’

Judge Coello also questioned whether the trial will require four days, noting ‘It was a very short incident, was it not?’

Forbes also told the court that Kerr’s defence team will try to have the charge dropped on the grounds of abuse of process during a hearing on April 26.

They will reportedly base that on the fact that it took almost a year for Kerr to be charged.

The development comes as Kerr broke her silence on social media by making her first post since the scandal broke.

She re-posted a message from her club, Chelsea, advertising the fact that 30,000 tickets have been sold for their upcoming clash with London-based rivals Arsenal.

Kerr’s defence will reportedly deny that she called the police officer a ‘stupid white bastard’, instead claiming she used the words ‘stupid white cop’ during the alleged incident.

Judge Coello has previously said she understood Kerr’s defence will be that she did not intend to cause alarm, harassment or distress to the police officer and that her slur was not racially motivated.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed that the incident was sparked by a dispute over a taxi fare.

Kerr also allegedly vomited in the taxi.

If she is convicted next year, the Australia skipper faces a maximum sentence of two years in prison and could be deported from the UK in the worst-case scenario.

There have been calls for Kerr to be stripped of the Matildas captaincy after she kept the charge a secret from Football Australia and the national team.

Both Matildas coach Tony Gustavsson and Football Australia chief executive James Johnson confirmed they only found out about her legal drama when the Mail broke the news.

Prior to Kerr putting up her most recent post, both she and her fiancee Kristie Mewis had been silent on social media. Neither of them have commented on the case.

The Mail got exclusive photos of Mewis breaking cover for the first time since the scandal became public as she strolled through central London on Tuesday.

Kerr’s Matildas teammate Mary Fowler was asked about the charge for the first time during an appearance on Today on Wednesday.

The Manchester City star would only say: ‘I actually don’t know heaps about that, so I’m not in a position to speak about it.

‘And, I also think it’s a private matter for her.’
