A spokesperson for famous Hollywood actor Brad Pitt has issued a statement after scammers posing as the actor were arrested to solicit money from women on social media.
“It’s appalling that scammers are taking advantage of fans’ strong connections to celebrities, and this is an important reminder not to respond to unsolicited online solicitations, especially from actors who simply don’t have a presence on social media,” the statement read.
Earlier it became known that the Spanish Interior Ministry said five people had been arrested and more were under investigation in connection with the creation of a “criminal organization” that allegedly scammed more than $350,000 from women online.
